Mei’s Piano Studio Policy 2024–2025
1. Annual Registration and Fees – $150
The annual registration fee is $75. This fee secures the student’s spot for the rest of school year. It also covers studio incentives, student rewards, music theory games, recital awards, access to music library materials, printed handouts, monthly practice competition prizes, and assignment notebooks.
Recital fees are $40 per student and include participation in two studio recitals each year.
An additional $35 is allocated for extracurricular materials.
2. Lesson Schedule
Lessons are scheduled from September through mid -June. Students meet once a week for lessons. Students receive average four lessons per month, with the exception of December and June, which will include two or three lessons with additional rehearsals and performances.
3. Tuition
Monthly tuition is $150 and is due on the first day of each month. A late fee of $1 per day will be applied to overdue payments.
"Our studio follows a flat-rate tuition model, spread over 10 months from September to June. While some months may include five lessons and others just three, recital months typically have two or three lessons along with additional rehearsals and performances. This balanced approach allows us to maintain a structured program while providing valuable experiences beyond regular lessons. The flat-rate system ensures predictable payments for families while covering all aspects of musical growth, including recitals and extra preparation."
Accepted payment methods include cash, online invoice payment (a $5 transaction fee applies), and automatic payment (enrollment required).
4. Makeup Lessons
Makeup lessons will be offered only for absences excused with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.
5. Discontinuation of Lessons
A one-month advance notice is required for students who wish to discontinue lessons. This allows for proper scheduling adjustments and a smooth conclusion to the student’s instruction.
6. Practice Expectations
Consistent home practice is essential. Students are expected to practice between 20 to 75 minutes daily, based on their age and proficiency level.
7. Instructional Materials
Students must purchase their own lesson books and are responsible for bringing all required materials—including music books and assignment notebooks—to each lesson.
8. Recitals and Performances
Participation in studio recitals and other performance opportunities is highly encouraged, as these experiences foster musical growth, build stage confidence, and celebrate student achievement.
9. Media Release
Photographs and videos of students may be featured on Mei’s Piano Studio website or social media channels for educational and celebratory purposes. If you prefer your child not be included, please submit a written request to opt out.
